Speed Studies is a fast paced, energetic, approach to painting.
Having applied this approach in teaching, VanCannon found that
it not only helps build confidence and speed, but takes students to a new level. Practice makes perfect and brush mileage will quickly improve ones skill. When forced to do speed studies one learns to make quick decisions that eventually become instinctual. Not only will students learn from new topics each week, but also from group discussion and side-by-side instruction. Demos will also be given throughout the course.

Instructor Abigail VanCannon, MFA graduate from the Academy of Art University, uses her classical
training to teach students the techniques of oil painting. Her work hangs nationally in solo and group shows as well as collector’s homes. VanCannon was named on of SouthWest Art Magazine’s “21 Under 31” spotlight for 2012 and was chosen in Art Business News Magazine’s “30 Under 30” feature 2013.
