Sue Stover Encaustic workshop Aug. 15 and 16
Creating Depth in Encaustic - Stencils and Layering - August 15-16, 2015
with
Sue Stover
Everyone had such a fantastic experience with Sue Stover in her last few workshops here at the studio. We are honored to have her return this summer for another workshop.
Among many of the benefits of working with encaustic are the enhanced opportunities of creating depth in a painting. Focusing on using stencils, masks and layering elements, we will also look to how this can add complexity and unity in a piece.
Participants will make their own unique stencils in a variety of ways while learning techniques for creating visual depth and relief. The approach is with various mixed media and students can incorporate stenciling and layering with collage, printmaking, or photography in their paintings. Topics include geometric and organic form, scale, transparency, single motif, repetition, repeat pattern, composition and content.
This class is for those who have had experience working encaustic. $325 + $30 materials. To register contact: info@susanstover.com or sign up below.
