Francisco "Paco" Benitez Encaustic Workshop Day 1

Paco sharing about the history of encaustic painting with wax, which was developed by the Greeks thousands of years ago.

Here Paco begins to apply the wax, using the brush and heat gun to apply the paint.

Using another heat tool, Paco begins to soften and refine the pigmented wax.

Bring sketching materials and $ for a cup of the best coffee in town

It's a great way to spend a few hours, drawing with a number of other people who also enjoy drawing. Art generally a solitary activity, and it's a great change of pace to actually make art with other people who are making art.

Another great POP UP Friday.  Working big and working quickly allowed us to free ourselves from our inner critic and just create and express.  We did 4 poses with our lovely model during the 3 hour session.  So much fun!!!!  Next POP UP is Oct. 13.  Next POP UP after that will be in November and we decided to do 3-4 poses during these sessions because it's so much fun.
