| We did two poses in the morning and one long pose in the afternoon during POP up Friday. I love having Mr. Planes of the Head as our reference when working on head studies of the model. I'm using acrylic; Trude is doing some fantastic mixed media pieces. Lots of fun! |

This workshop for all skill levels is an
introduction to plein air
painting with oils. The first day will take place indoors. I will go
through the materials to be used when painting outdoors followed by a
demonstration illustrating the different steps and aspects leading to a
successful painting: composition, simplification, values, edges, light and
color. The following day will take place outdoors. I will start with another
demonstration and then you will be able to apply what you learned in a "plein
air " environment.

California Art Club meeting tonight

| 27 California Art Clubs from our Chapter came from all over Northern California for the meeting tonight. It was great to see such enthusiasm, great ideas for paint outs, art opportunities, and upcoming events. We had a nice dinner and great time networking and visiting with our artist cohorts from Davis to Placerville to Nevada City and everywhere in between. |

| It was wonderful to have Urania with us to critique and share her wealth of knowledge and professional artistic thoughts and ideas regarding the paintings that chapter members brought in for her to see and critique. She gave a very thoughtful and helpful critique and I learned alot just by listening to her. Thank you everyone for being part of this meeting! |
