Day 2 Kids Art Camp: Fine Art; Fiber Art; Culinary Art

Today's wonderful culinary creation was a delicious stir fry which our young chefs shared with all of us at camp.
Under the close supervision of our head chef extraordinaire Mrs. Ning Noy Downing, the young chefs learn a culinary lesson.
Today we made our own creations and colors to create a colorful boquet.

A great workshop this weekend with Michael Siegel

Our workshop with master artist and extraordinary teacher Michael Siegel began with his demo.

We all learned an incredible amount as we practiced, struggled, and grew in our artistic skills this weekend.
Michael Siegel is an amazing teacher and works with each student individually  to help them progress and develop in their artistic skills.  We were so fortunate to have such a wonderful teacher and accomplished artist working with us in this workshop.  We are all looking forward to his next workshop here in Sacramento at the end of September!!!

Day 2 Michael Siegel Portrait Painting workshop

We had a full house today--it's great that so many artists were able to attend today and learn from master artist Michael Siegel.  He is an extraordinary teacher and each student gains a tremendous amount from studying with him.
We had a great model, great art energy, great learning today.  A very successful day in the studio.  After the workshop today, we enjoyed Chinese food for dinner from Dim Sum House here in the studio. (I am super grateful for the dishwasher in the studio kitchen!)  It's always so much fun to hang out and eat and talk art with other artists and be able to unwind after a long day of painting.

An Amazing Workshop with Michael Siegel

Michael explains his palette and color choices.
In his step by step approach, he slowly and masterfully constructs the form of the portrait.
Everyone eagerly gets to work, trying to remember and practice the lessons of this modern master.  What a privilege to study under the tutelage of an artist of his caliber. And I love that it's happening right here in Oak Park at my studio!!!!
